This is a test.

Okay, now that I know how to hyperlink shit in this thing, I'll continue. Following the above link takes you to my buddy [personal profile] angledge's journal entry on The Shower Meme. It's some kind of interview chain thing- someone started by asking 5 questions to anyone who requested an interview, and then each person who answered posted their answers in their journals and asked for others to be interviewed, and it kept on going. So, hell, I'm a sucker for these things, and [personal profile] angledge would probably ask funny questions, so here is her interview.

Edit: I should point out that [personal profile] angledge did not start the Shower Meme; she was just the person who passed it on. It apparently started here by [personal profile] anoisblue. I'm just continuing a trend.

1. When did you decide you never want to have children, & why?

Sometime in high school, I think. I realized three things: that they require a lot of energy and effort which I selfishly would rather spend on myself, that children have a chance of turning out like their parents, and I sure as hell didn't want any little me's running about, and that if I really REALLY needed to have children, I'd make sure I'd mold them to my own custom design, like creating a fanatic army devoted to me.

2. How do you think your life would be different if you hadn't transferred from RPI to Cornell?

First off, I'd probably never have gotten laid. RPI's a damn engineering school, which is to say, there are no women there, period. Second off, I would never have generated The Hive, and that's a sad sad concept to contemplate.

3. What is your favorite part of working at the United Nations?

Let's see, besides the free liquor, the massive quantity of vacation, and the occasional trip to somewhere out in the world... it's the people. I can honestly say that I have met citizens of every country on the face of the planet. I have met presidents and prime ministers, kings and queens, and scores of other celebrities. I have encountered hundreds of cultures, some good, some not so good, all surprising. It's an experience that I think few other jobs can really generate, and it is incredibly eye-opening.

4. What steps are you taking towards making a career as a writer?

I just came up with an idea! This is usually the hardest part- finding something to write about. But I got one, and it's almost good. Heh. Second to that, however, is Readercon, July 13th wknd. We were planning a party, but I think I'll actually bow out and go to the convention, which is more of a gathering of writers and publishers offering seminars on the field. Might actually teach me something.

5. Wolverine v. Boba Fett: who wins?

Tough one. If Boba's smart, he'd stay back and use a lot of long range weaponry... like his fucking starship. I'll bet even Wolverine would have a tough time regenerating after a blast from a turbolaser. If Boba's a dumbass and gets up close and personal, he's Mandalorean Swiss Cheese. No question.

That's it for me. If you want an interview, respond here and I'll ask you some incredibly deep and penetrating questions. And if you believe that...
